Age: 29

About Me:

I work too much and I play too hard, I travel too far too fast and I move on too often. I'm restless and spirited, motivated and driven, wild and free. I love the porch more than the table, the stars more than the ceiling and trees more than buildings. I like taking the long way home and getting lost a few times on the way.  I'm family and fun, friends and memories, tradition and manners.  I’ve worked hard to get where I am and I’ve enjoyed every step of this incomplete walk of life.

Education:

Masters degree in Jack of All Trades, School of Hard Knocks – Cherryville, BC.
GED Charles Bloom Secondary, Lumby BC
Various Training and certifications : Driving Instructor – WSCA, ATV Op. Instructor – WSCA, Snowmobile Op. instructor – BCSF, etc.

Value Statements and Quotes:

I’m only here for a short time and I’ll only leave memories when I go, let’s make memories.
Hard work, honesty, respect, and perseverance are the building blocks of life.
I don’t need excuses, I need solutions and results
Luck = opportunity meets preparation

Summit History and Industry History:

I planted my first 2 years in the Okanagan with A&G reforestation.  In 2003 I started with Summit.  I finished my supervising career with Summit in 2011 after 7 years of supervising.  I have moved on for 2012 to Area Manager, managing primarily all of our Alberta Contracts.  I have been treated fairly in every aspect and my goal is to extend that fair treatment to all employees at Summit.

Expectations of your planters:

Work Hard and plant lots of trees
Know your responsibilities
Be respectful of everyone around you
Act in a safe manner and be mindful of your peers safety
Help your team whenever possible
Have fun and try hard to help the people around you to have fun.

My 2012 goal:

Continual improvement in Summit for the benefit of employees, Clients, and Summit alike.  I want everyone to think every year that this was their best season yet.  My contribution to this will be essential in managing equipment ensuring smooth operations and fair treatment throughout the projects.
